The faux wood beams from our Modern Collection are the perfect choice for people who desire a contemporary look with wood beams.

While Rustic collection imitates the rugged texture of real woods, Modern Collection has a more even and smooth surface. It imitates lightly brushed wood with shallow irregularities on its surface. As the name of the collection suggests, these beams are more suitable for modern interiors.

Installing the faux wood beams are extremely easy and you will just need a couple of wooden blocks, glue, and screws to finish the project. You won’t need any special skills or experience, and you can also find more information about the installation as well as video instructions here

Additionally, you can add more decorative elements like corbels, fitting elements, and decorative straps to complement the overall look of the faux wood beams.

Accessories

Decorative straps – used when you have to hide the joint between two beams. It can also be installed on the beam as an extra decorative feature. Made of rubber it could be easily cut to the desired length and glued to the beam with adhesive (order here).

Fitting element (model FE054) – two beams can be butt joint to it creating a more elaborated transition between two beams. Comes in a matching color (order here).

Console (model ED015). Installed under the beam when it meets the wall as an additional decor element (order here).

Installation

Faux wood beams are the perfect DIY product. You won’t need any special tool or skills to install it. Since faux beams are so light (our biggest 10′ long beam weights only 16 lb.), the installation could be handled by the single person.

Before installing beams we’d recommend to cut wooden blocks that will fit inside the beam. Using long screws install the block on the wall or ceiling where you want to install the beam and mark on the wall the location of the blocks ( on the picture we did the marks with masking tape)

2. Apply the adhesive as on the picture below. We recommend to use the Styro Pro (other construction adhesives could be used as long as these adhesives work with Polyurethane)

3. Install the beam over the blocks and put a screws through the beam’s side to the wooden blocks. We recommend to use dark screws because they are less visible on the beam surface.
